HERS rating for our 2010 habitat house is 51, compared to our 2009 habitat house HERS rating of 77. What is a HERS rating? It stands for Home Energy Rating System. A score of 100 means your house will use the same amount of energy as a house built to the current Energy Code. A score of 77 means your house uses 77% as much energy as a house built to the current energy code, and a score of 51 means your house uses 51% as much energy as a house built to the current energy code. To make energy star standards, a HERS of 80 is required.

HFHAR looks at three areas when selecting a partner family: Your Need, Your Ability to Pay, and Your Willingness to Partner. To be a qualifying family your income needs to be between $20,000 and $45,000 depending on family size. Habitat homes are sold to partner families at no profit and are financed with no-interest loans. If you might be interested in being a habitat home owner, please contact us.
